✅ If you are new to the show dog world and would like to learn about breeding and showing AKC registered purebred dogs, GKC members have decades of knowledge
and experience with some of the top-ranked dogs in the country. We have handling classes several times yearly along with matches, obedience, and rally trials.
✅ If you are experienced in AKC dog sports, and have recently moved into the area, we welcome you to join our club.
✅ If you have an interest in AKC performance events and would like to learn more, many of our members participate in these events and are a reliable source of information.
✅ Even if you are not currently active in AKC dog sports but would like to help at our shows, and other events, we will welcome you to apply.
Reasons why the GKC might not be a good fit for you:
❌ You are intentionally breeding mixed breed or “designer dogs”. (This does not apply to new developing breeds whose foundation stock registry has been accepted by the AKC.)
❌ You are intentionally breeding and/or selling dogs which do not meet the AKC standards for the breed.
❌ You just want to advertise you are an AKC Club Member on your website.
